I was trying to update an attachment in a howto thread and get:
Quote:
My understanding is that this is often a server error although a client can sometime have problems with ssh. My ISP does have some issues and I do use DNS over TLS. I've maintained this thread for years but did upgrade my OpenWRT router firmware, with stubby package, prior to the error message: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/dns/stubby I intend to verify that BareGUI runs on the upcoming OpenBSD77 release and update the *tar.gz file accordingly. |

I can upload a *tgz file without any issue. See attachment.
I used the "Upload file from your computer" from the "Attach Files" -> "Manage Attachments" button. Note that the attachments must have one of the "allowed" enumerated file extensions. And there is a size limit of 2.5 MB Please describe what you actually did ![]()

Logged in and editing the 1st post in the BareGUI thread, "Go Advanced"-> "Manage Attachments" paper clip to successfully remove the older BareGUI76.tar.gz. While still logged in, in the Manage Attachments window, I would Browse to the file in my ~/Downloads folder and select it. The file name would show up in the "blue box". I would then click the "Upload" button and would get the "Internal Server Error 500". I logged in and out and tried several times for about 3 days, 3 different browsers OpenBSD and Debian, and then gave up about the time I PM'd you.
I will try again and also try changing the *.tar.gz extension to *.tgz. Edit: It worked this time first attempt with the *.tar.gz. I don't think I did anything different than prior attempts. I'll just write it off to some unidentified internet instability. Thanks for F/U. While I've got your attention, my suspicion is that the view counts on the howto's are way inflated - bots and web crawlers? Last edited by shep; 3 Weeks Ago at 04:01 PM. |

Looks like this site's robots.txt only blocks PetalBot & SemrushBot, and the latter isn't active any more, so it will be wide open to the LLMs.
I like to refer to the BBC's version, they keep it up to date in respect of the user agents: https://www.bbc.co.uk/robots.txt

@Shep - view counts
Yes, there are a lot of bots, but most disguise as mobile phone users. @Head_on_a_Stick - robots.txt I planned to update that file and only allow google, bing (?) and yandex crawlers and disallow all others. Up to now, because of other emergencies, I have not done it yet ......
