I guess they have identified a niche between those hardcore RTOSs like QNX, VxWorks, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, and traditional OSes without any RT capabilities. They can attract developers who have no experience with the former and make them feel at home developing soft real-time applications.
Btw, I didn't know there were so many RTOSes out there. Wikipedia lists over 70 actively maintained
