Skype on FreeBSD 7.1 - works very slow..

Hi,

I've just installed Skype from the ports tree, the thing I've noticed is that it works very slow and even crashes. This is the error from skype when it crashes.

Code:

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'RtError'

I'm using linux_base-fc6, already have mounted /compat/linux/proc, and compat.linux.osrelease=2.6.16

Does anyone have such issues with skype?

The problem was gone after installing linux_base-f8. Please close this thread.

I want to update you on one thing with Skype.

It seems that the above error is not related with linux_base-fc6 or linux_base-f8.

Acctually the error occurs only when snd_hda is NOT loaded! I don't know why this happens, but when snd_hda is not loaded I get this error and Skype sometimes crashes, sometimes work, but contacts are not being loaded and it is too slow - in other words it is not usable.

I wanted to share this with you if someone happens to come across with this issue.
