Is it possible to compile Infinite Noise for OpenBSD?
Has anyone heard of Infinite Noise?
https://leetronics.de/de/shop/infinite-noise-trng/ This device sounds very promising but I'm disappointed that there doesn't seem to be any actual OpenBSD drivers for it? https://leetronics.de/de/blog/2017/0...te-noise-trng/ So I suppose the only option is to compile the source code into an OpenBSD app? Is that right? Right? |

No, I never have heard of it. For English speakers see https://github.com/leetronics/infnoise
As far as I understand it takes over /dev/random I don't know whether that is a good idea. OpenBSD developers don't allow external stuff linking into the kernel, That is why for example PAM modules are not supported. Some time ago I saw a presentation of Theo de Raadt about randoms number generators in OpenBSD : Randomness: how arc4random has grown since 1998

Correction - there was a discussion 2 years ago on misc@; this "driver" may be able to run in userland.
