What happen between NetBSD and OpenBSD in the past?
I don't want to start flame war or anything else, I just a newbie who come to BSD world and still don't understand much about BSD world. Basically, I made this topic just for grabbing some history knowledge .
I have read some topic from Wikipedia and some sites: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetBSD https://www.osnews.com/story/1455/op...y-netbsd-team/ https://mail-index.netbsd.org/curren...0/20/0004.html https://www.theos.com/deraadt/coremail.html https://www.reddit.com/r/BSD/comment...e_as_far_as_i/ Well, Hope this topic shouldn't gone far.... But seem I see NetBSD is basically the low quality of all BSD system when I want to use it for desktop as a newbie, is that NetBSD problem? I wish NetBSD could be better like FreeBSD and OpenBSD. |

I believe it involved personalty issues, so OpenBSD was created.

That's basically a set o shell scripts to automatize the installation of a MATE environment, execute common post-install tasks and make default some recommended settings for desktop use

Sorry, for act like a newbie in Linux :P who doesn't actually read and check if the information I read was right or not.
But you say right, we shouldn't trust any piece of information which come from the Internet. I think that NetBSD community have improve a lot like documentation, hardware support and pkgsrc become more stable. I am using NetBSD as desktop and use it to learn *nix world right now. |
