A couple of weeks ago I decided to install NetBSD in my HP Jornada 728. Saw this in a blog time ago, actually in these days I couldn 't find them, dead links or they have messy information.
In NetBSD ftp site I got a dir with as I think they are ready to use files, no need to compile or serial cable. The real question or the query here is, somebody knows how to use these file to install it in the compact flash card. As I know the " pcboot.exe " is for booting from Windows CE, what I don ´t khow is how to populate the compact flash filesystem. My problem become with the kernel and the other files... Of course extra details are more than welcome ;-) Where I got the files ... http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/Net...m/binary/sets/ base.tgz comp.tgz etc.tgz games.tgz kern-IPAQ.tgz kern-JORNADA720.tgz kern-WZERO3.tgz man.tgz misc.tgz modules.tgz tests.tgz text.tgz xbase.tgz xcomp.tgz xetc.tgz xfont.tgz xserver.tgz |

I haven't never installed NetBSD in hpcarm.
But, did you look http://wiki.netbsd.org/ports/hpcarm/ (from www.netbsd.org -> Ports)? Look at the INSTALL document at this page. Usually this document, indicates how to install the Operating System. Best regards. Last edited by joseyluis; 31st October 2016 at 12:33 AM. |
