I'm a new freeBSD user. Here's my setup that I need to work:
Intel DX48BT2 motherboard (intel x48 chipset) 500gb Seagate SATA drive (Windows Server 2008 only) 200gb Maxtor IDE drive (what I want to install to, currently has Linux) 2x160gb USB 2.0 drives (IDE I guess?) When I run the BSD bootloader, it does not recognize my 200gb IDE drive. I've also tried it with ACPI off, to no avail. none of the drives have any jumpers in. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance! |

I haven't tested it using a live CD (only install disks). The .iso images are strait off the site. Should I be using a custom kernel?

Thanks for the replies. I decided to go with Gentoo actually. Linux seems to be more hardware friendly. I may try to triple-boot, and I'll keep the ATA controller in mind. Thanks again!

Will it be integrated in the p1 or later OS update ? |
