Looking for a backup tool with a nice GUI

Hi,

I am using PCBSD. I backup my data to an external usb hdd. I am looking for a backup tool with a GUI which will let me select specific folders in my /usr/home/username.

I tried grsync but problem is when I select a source directory in grsync all its subfolders are selected automatically.

The majority of the FreeBSD users we once had migrated to the official FreeBSD forums. Maybe you could ask there. Or on the PCBSD forums.

PC-BSD comes with the Life Preserver which is just a GUI around rsync. They swear by it. However since you are using ZFS you might learn how to take zfs snapshots. I would recommend reading following Michael Lucas articles for the survey of zfs snapshot tools

For the record for file systems other than ZFS I personally use rsnapshot and for off site/cloud backup duplicity (comes with the useful front-end script duply). No GUI however.

I wrote on the pcbsd forums. A member told me that lifepreserver copies all including the hidden files on the home dir. I want to backup only some specific folders. I guess I will create multiple session using grsync.

rsync (and I am sure Life Preserver) can be configured to skip files of certain type, folders. Running multiple sessions of rsync (grsync) is the wrong way to do it.

Yes, life preserver can be configured to ommit file folders but there is no way to deselect the hidden file/folders. Also I am not sure if it supports incremental backups. Read the wiki but there is no mention.
