Since recent update uBlock Origin in Firefox asks for 2 new permissions: computer name and IP address.

Can uBlock Origin be trusted?

This is one permission, not two.
This permission is related to innovations in ads&tracking industry - see thread "'Unblockable' web trackers emerge".

If you don't trust this extension then fine, uninstall it, but don't spread FUD without evidence. uBlock Origin is widely used open-source extension. Anyone can inspect its source code. Where did I say I don't trust it?
I've got a pop-up in firefox, saying:

uBlock Origin has been updated. (...)
It requires your permission to:
-Access IP address and hostname information

This forum has people with advanced knowledge on this matter, so I'm just asking if this can be trusted.

uBlock Origin can already access everything in all your web pages; if you're hesitant to trust the project then this is the least of your worries.
