DVD file read error
Hello to all,
I tried to play my DVD in VLC but nothing happend. So I tried to read this DVD and I discovered that files from this DVD couldn't be read. When I tried to read this DVD in Windows VLC, no problem was found (DVD plays well) ... Is it possible that unix DVD reader driver is not correct (doesn't support all file system types reading)? Or does this problem depend on my DVD mechanic (Samsung DRW SH-S203N, 20xD ±R, SATA, LightS)? Thank you for your answers and ideas! |

I fergot to say that this problem appears with only some DVD - the most DVD reading is OK.

It's possible that this is a new kind of protection but explain me why can I read the same DVD in Windows with no problems ... I think now the physical DVD reading.

A "new kind of protection" is absurd, such a thing would break compatibility with legacy DVD players, people would be suing if their old DVD player starting having problems.
The encryption format is CSS and it has been circumvented. Install libdvd and be done with it, you're legally aloud to watch a movie on your computer. Damn Americans... |

A note, libdvd is actually called "libdvdcss", some package management systems just call it libdvd (Like OpenBSD..)
