I'm running OpenBSD 7.5-current amd64 on a Lenovo ThinkPad T400.
When I try to shut down - either using "doas halt -p" or "doas shutdown -p now" - it terminates cwm, stops the daemons, and syncs the disks (as expected). However, the system does not actually power off: rather, the screen stays on (reading "syncing disks... done") and I have to manually shut down from here by holding the power button. I tried some steps from a few old guides, but they were all obsolete. For example, "hw.allowpowerdown=1" did not need to be set in /etc/sysctl.conf. It's worth noting that this does not happen with reboot(8), and I am currently using this in place of shutdown(8) or halt(8). Any ideas?

That is weird, but is apmd(8) active ? If so, I doubt I can help further
