I have installed on Virtualbox OpenBSD6.9 and worked great for a couple of years. Lately I tried to install 7.3 and 7.2 and both fails right after started installing the sets. I tried to increase RAM and space available but no success.
Not to mention I tried also to install it on AQEMU and Virtual-Manager and it fails successfully. Note: I downloaded install7.3.iso respectively install7.2.iso from https://openbsd.cs.toronto.edu/pub/OpenBSD/7.3/amd64/ and cksum OK Thanks! Last edited by lattimro; 3rd July 2023 at 06:23 PM. |

There's an 8-month old Reddit thread discussing this problem. It appears virtual hardware configuration for the guest virtual machine can make a difference -- there's a fairly recent comment from someone noting success after changing the virtual disk controller.

Previously I switched controllers back and forth but I did not play to much that game, but now if you found and sent me that reference on reddit I insisted and yes, that worked on me as well (AHCI/PIIX4).
Nested VT-x/AMD-V did not make any difference. Thanks a lot! Last edited by lattimro; 4th July 2023 at 12:56 PM. |
