I'm not sure what I did wrong but I ran sysupgrade and then sysupdate and pkg_add -u wouldn't work.
I'm getting errors because it reports as v7.4 Is there a file somewhere that I can edit to change the 7.4 to 7.3? Or, is there a way to force a reinstall of 7.3 that will reset anything that thinks it's 7.4? Thanks |

I'm caught in the 7.4 mess and

I read elsewhere to set PKG_PATH in the environment to something like http://some.mirror/pub/OpenBSD/snapshots/packages/%a/ Would I put this in /etc/installurl ? I've tried Quote:

So you upgraded to a snapshot or 7.4, which means you're now running -current, which will be released as 7.4 stable some time this month. So you may as well stay with 7.4.
Refer to pkg_add(1), syspatch(8) and sysupgrade(8), you seem to misunderstand their purpose. You need to correctly format your installurl(5) and choose a mirror: https://www.openbsd.org/ftp.html |

https://www.openbsd.org/ftp.html is where I found the several mirrors that I tried - so far, none of them works.
I read about the three pkg_add(1), syspatch(8) and sysupgrade(8) and had notes from my original install and subsequent (trouble free) upgrades. I've very new to OpenBSD, coming from a long time with Linux, so there are lots of little differences that mess me up. I'm trying to learn ... I guess, for now, I'll just try to use things as they sit (hoping for no problems) then see about 'stable' when it arrives. Thanks. Last edited by ocicat; 2nd October 2023 at 07:59 PM.
