PAE has been part of OpenBSD/i386 for many years. I am guessing a series of patches to PAE since 5.0 drive the requirement - in particular changes to i386 MMU processing for PMAP.
A presentation on PAE in OpenBSD/i386 from 2006: http://www.openbsd.org/papers/nyc2006/index.html See pmap(9) Last edited by jggimi; 1st March 2012 at 06:06 PM. Reason: clarity - removed a link to an unrelated patch, added man page |
