Tapatalk support?
Been a while since I've been able to drop by regularly, but I was wondering whether or not it might be possible to get Tapatalk support here? Given my present device situation, it really would be a useful way to access the forum. Maybe a few others might find it useful as well, depending on how frequently they use Android or iOS like devices.

My opinions are here on that, and I am the cheapast bastard I know .
As far as I can tell, the only "Free" alternative for Android, would be coding it, or using the web browser. XDA at least has very crap performance with the stock browser and I expect here as well. For a couple bucks, it's worth buying Tapatalk instead of writing my own wheel just for being cheap. In iOS land, idk and idc.

For iOS there's:
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/touch...332458253?mt=8 Which has a free version (with ads). |

Is there perhaps a mobile "scaled down" version of the forum that would be more appropriate with such devices?
This appears broken, all the links error out. http://www.daemonforums.org/archive/index.php |

What about this?

It's also worth pointing out that Tapatalk support only costs for people that want to buy the Tapatalk client .

I think that's the wrong direction for the forum, people shouldn't have to pay for access.

Better to be silent than remove all doubt, or read more.
Quote:
Tapatalk is a forum client. It does to forums what a newsreader does for usenet. The difference is, unlike what the authors of newsreaders like Gnus, slrn, or knode chose: the authors of Tapatalk decided to sell their client. I didn't write the progam, so I can't complain if they choose to sell it as a product, and it works well enough and costs little enough that I will leave creating a better program that is both Free and *[b]hopefully[/]* Open Source, to someone with more economical or political interest in filling every niche with either (or both). I prefer OSS when possible.

Yes, please add tapatalk support, those of us who don't mind paying for the tapatalk app (it's great).

While your request has some merit, none of the administrative staff has stepped up to volunteer to do the needed research, experiment, & implement whatever changes will be required to provide support. As with most Open Source projects, most advances are made when there is time and/or motivation.
We will keep your request in mind. |

+1
Another vote here for tapatalk support.
