Default Server updates through a proxy

After I do a clean install of FreeBSD, how can I get the server to talk though a proxy to get the updates it needs?

ie: freebsd-update, ports, et al.

Set the environmental variables:

HTTP_PROXY=http://<proxyservername>:<proxyserverport>
FTP_PROXY=http://<proxyservername>:<proxyserverport>
export HTTP_PROXY FTP_PROXY

Now for the really stupid question:

If I do a setenv, how will cron know what the proxy is?

You can set the variables within your crontab.
