Default nwn failed to initialize graphics

Since I recently ran a portupgrade on my system, Neverwinter Nights won't launch.

It returns a message-

Failed to initialize graphics.
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Has anyone seen similar?

It probably means your drivers are not setup properly.

What's the output of 'glxinfo | grep -i renderer' and '/compat/linux/usr/local/bin/glxinfo | grep -i renderer' ?

glxinfo isn't available neither is /compat/linux/usr/local/

This previously worked absolutely fine (in fact, I was really chuffed with it as I'd never been able to get it working on Ubuntu)

EDIT - it looks like that portupgrade has probably whacked my graphics driver, although, why I do not know.

Is there a different shell command I could use to query the driver in use.

Not that I'm aware of. /usr/ports/graphics/mesa-demos will install the native version. I don't remember what port installs the linux version. Actually, I may have the path wrong. Check for the linux version in /compat/linux/usr/X11R6/bin/glxinfo.

What does your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file look like?

I'm not positive, but.. previous posts indicative.. I think he uses the binary-blob drivers from NVidia.

Something in this "upgrade" process may have broken the installation, perhaps he needs to reinstall them?

If he is using the nvidia driver then, yes, reinstalling is definitely the way to proceed :-)

Ran portsnap fetch then extract, deinstalled the driver and then remade it. Hooray!

Where was I going wrong with portupgrade? I ran portupgrade -r before (I believe it was actually to get Eclipse). I used portupgrade -r

I didn't think this would clobber all my ports system though...
