First written in Rust component is shipping in Firefox 48 to all desktop platforms

Ralph Giles and Matthew Gregan built Mozilla’s first Rust media parser. https://github.com/mozilla/mp4parse-rust It is the first component integrated in Firefox, written in Rust and shipped to all desktop platforms. Firefox 48 is a culmination of a long journey for Rust. It means exerting pressure on Gnu/Linux distros and other FOSS operating systems shipping Firefox browser to Tier-1 support for Rust's toolchain.
