Changing /etc/random.seed From Another Machine
Hey all,
Is the /etc/random.seed file used at any time besides boot and shutdown? I'm looking at making my diskless firewall completely read-only (I know it's unsupported but it's a home firewall and I'm tinkering). I figured I could dump 512 bytes of random data into it once a day on the NFS host. Grepping around didn't turn up any references to the file outside /etc/rc and some boot-related binaries, but I figured it's best to ask since if I'm wrong it could cause some really hard-to-track intermittent bugs. |
