I write and execute dozens of IT service contracts every year, as both recipient and provider of services. However, I am not an attorney, so the following does not constitute legal advice.
If your solution includes a third party tool that either causes damage or permits damage to be caused, your business may be held liable for that damage. Neither you nor your customers will be able to claim compensation from the tool maker, both because your customers have no chain of privity with the third party you selected, and because you will have only a free software product's license (commonly either a GPL or BSD/ISC license) that will normally expressly exclude any warranty or claim of fitness for any purpose.

Before deciding to meet the demand of your customers' lazy net admins, I recommend you review the terms and conditions of your service contract(s) to determine your company's liability and to seek the advice of counsel should clarification be needed.

I have never used this and have no recommendations or opinions. It is merely something to consider as to whether it meets your requirements.

Firewall Builder | Simplifying Firewall Management

Are you still managing firewalls from the command line?

Does this sound familiar?

You need to make a firewall update, but you are not sure of the exact command you need, so you: Search for documentation. Scour forums. Trawl through wikis. Hours go by. Finally, something that looks like the right command! Try it out. Oh, didn't work. Back to searching...

Been there? Well, no more.

Firewall Builder makes it easy to configure your firewalls. Our application is trusted by thousands of users to help them manage their production firewalls.

Cool, another PF GUI manager! There are ports of it for both FreeBSD and OpenBSD.

It's another XML tool, which tetra_user wanted to avoid, though he did not explain why.

According to the OpenBSD port, this is mostly GPLv2+ licensed, with some components having BSD/ISC-like licenses. No warranty, of course.

It was discussed directly above. See posts #22 and #23.
