And didn't Hitachi buy up IBMs hard drive stuff some years ago? I seem to remember something about a death star.

Yup; the article mentions that was in 2002.

Lol, that must have been my IBM hard drive, but I didn't know it was so famous. It began to die under warranty, and I got it replaced by Hitachi. They did a first-class job with that, and I'm still using the replacement Hitachi drive today.
