Default EFI boot problem

Hello,
I am trying to boot fresh NetBSD 10.1 on older HP machine HP Compaq Elite 8300. System disk is GPT and contains Window and above NetBSD installation. I am using rEFInd for dual-boot.

Problem is that after selecting NetBSD boot entry there does not appear text-mode icon with:
...NetBSD/x86 EFI Boot (x64)...
So (IMHO) bootx64.efi has some problem.
There only appears some address ranges quickly scrolling up and then it stops.

But
when I boot from USB key and use manual boot parameters to boot OS from disk:
boot NAME=NetBSD:netbsd then OS on the disk successfully starts up.

I tried to rewrite bootx64.efi on EFI partition with /usr/mdec/bootx64.efi
or with bootx64.efi present on USB key, it does not help.
I don't know to explain myself this behavior.
My NetBSD installation is on wd0 dk4.
Any ideas ?

Please enclose your output within code tags, makes it easier for people to read to help.

My guess is that it is looking at the wrong boot partition.....or maybe this - [ 1.548425] autoconfiguration error: wd0: wedge named 'Basic data partition' already existed, using '10bd2c78-377a-4082-8212-c1176362ec16'

Thx !
I corrected it, there was two partitions with the same label, but this correction does not help.
I think this error comes before it reaches boot partition, because there does not appear text mode logo: "NetBSD/x86 EFI Boot (x64)".
So it seems like bootx64.efi has some problem and stops before displaying logo.
Still I cannot explain myself why it is able to start OS in the disk with help of USB key even I use the same file on USB key's EFI partition and harddisk EFI partition.

now dmesg sees nicely:

Sorry, I'm not very well versed in EFI, & I don't dual/multi boot my computers, but hopefully, someone else with multi booting experience will see your post.

(My only installs are single O/S, which worked OK for me.)

I put together a Forum Howto on Dual Booting Linux and NetBSD:
https://daemonforums.org/showthread.php?t=11898 that probably won't be to helpful as it was based on the Grub2 bootloader. It does detail the extraction of
Code:
boot64.efi
and setting up the partitions.

A web search with terms: rEFInd, windows, netbsd does show it can be done:
https://mail-index.netbsd.org/netbsd...msg028143.html

Maybe there is enough information in that thread. I'd also consider reaching out to the rEFInd community. The main web page at the bottom has links to a SourceForge forum and Rod Smiths contact info:https://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/

There would be an option to use a Linux based Partition manager to set up the NetBSD partitions and install as detailed in the howto. Then take the risk of installing sysutils/grub2. efibootmgr is a wip so you would likely have to manually add the Windows boot entry.

A third path would be to install a Windows version of Grub2 https://sourceforge.net/projects/grub2win/

Thank you Shep.

I resolved problem, bootx64.efi has problem specific for HP Compaq elite 8300 BIOS/UEFI or specific to EFI partition used on that machine.

I created workaround, details in mailing-list:
