Microsoft “loves Linux” as it makes Azure bigger, better

"Azure offers a range of Linux distributions with enterprise support."
This sentence seems important to me. Well, not important to me personally: I could give a flying furball about "the cloud." But for the people wanting to use Azure and Linux, I guess they better like Red Hat, SuSE, or whatever this "range of Linux distributions" is comprised of. I wonder if the distros have to make a deal to get in there. Also, call me cynical, but this seems more or less the modern equivalent of DEC Alpha support in WinNT. It's an indicator of their current position in the market. If they later corner the market, see how well their non-Windows cloud works. Last edited by thirdm; 21st October 2014 at 04:40 PM.
