Was able to get the Brother HL2140 to print relatively easy following these basic
steps: Not alot of experience setting up BSD driven printers so I first visited FreeBSD printing guide. then Apsfilter website then Linux Printing website Selected the above printer and read the directions for the various options. Installed software as directed using PPD suggestions. Visited the Apsfilter site and cross checked their suggestions with the Linux Printing Site. Note: (if you download the ports collection and placed in /usr/ports you will find the software/packages in the "PRINT" directory. Created /etc/rc.conf.local adding lpd_flags="" Started Apsfilter and worked my way through the menu... Found my Brother HL2140 printer under the MISC category, .AND.
