Should be easy.... Keyboard copy n paste
The mouse highlight / middle click works fine but it's inefficient to have to use a mouse when i'm working in a console. I have 4.3 running fluxbox and eterm as the terminal. tcsh as the shell. Can you highlight text or otherwise copy/paste words without the mouse? I'm sure you can but I haven't run across anything. Anyone got a link that explains or a command to point me in the right direction? i'd like to be able to ctrl-shift-left and highlight the last word at the console and copy it elsewhere al la windows.

You would need to read your shells manual pages, particularly the line editing.
vi and emacs style line editing is available in most mainstream shells. I'm not sure if they implement the editors concept of yank/kill but it's worth a look.

ok, it seems that tcsh uses emacs for line editing. I will read up on that.

tcsh supports both emacs and vi styles, most shells however default to emacs ;-)
I personally use Vim and NVi for text editing but have found vi line editing tends to be a bit like overkill for interactive shell sessions, where the text to be edited is often quite small.

i got it now. alt B and alt F skip backwards and forwards a word at a time, alt D and alt backspace cut the previous or subsequent word and ctrl y pastes the word.
