So before I go to bed, here is a FreeDOS floppy image I created that includes the HX DOS extender.
This allows you to run Win32 console mode programs under DOS, you should be able to copy this prepare.exe binary and the custom logo to the floppy image. http://www.japheth.de/HX.html Hope it helps, works fine in QEMU. |

I'm almost afraid to tell you, but I already had a WinXP QEMU image (Three actually, one with each ``recent'' version of Internet Explorer).
Thanks a bunch for a effort though! Especially for you, here's an image of the end result: http://www.carpetsmoker.net/images/thinkpad_logo.jpeg

I split this thread from http://www.daemonforums.org/showthread.php?p=26844 -- It was getting very offtopic very fast.
-- I don't know Rod, I used the instructions here: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to...tsplash_screen The page is pretty badly written IMO, but what you do is: 1) Download bootable ISO or floppy image to flash your BIOS from the Lenovo site. 2) Make a logo name it logo.bmp, 16-color indexed, use prepare.exe logo.scr to compress it. Maximum size is 10K (For T61...) 3) Modify the image, put logo.* on it, boot it & flash your BIOS. The page doesn't mention T2x models, but you can try to download the images and if it has prepare.exe and logo.scr .... Quote:

One of my friends tried something like that once (under XP32 iirc), and ended up breaking his BIOS [sic]. Nice to see it actually works lol
