Hi,
Could I have some recommendations on books for freebsd. From a novice to an intermidate level. I feel I am asking very basic questions here which could be resolved by a good text book. Thanks, Jonathan. |

Personally I learned a heap from my copy of The Complete FreeBSD, although I believe it has dated somewhat, although a new version has been released.
The book given the most airtime at present is Absolute FreeBSD. Having a Dead-tree edition of the Handbook is also useful if you like that kind of thing. Take a look through the Book Reviews forum for more.

It's been mentioned elsewhere, but Absolute FreeBSD looks like a good bet. I browsed through it at the bookstore a few days ago and decided to buy it from Amazon when I got home (which was about $20 cheaper and had FREE shipping). It should be here in a few days, but all of the reviews I've read have been positive.

I was brought up on FreeBSD Unleashed 2nd edition, but I don't know if that's been updated. Excellent book for beginner's. The Complete FreeBSD is better for when you know your way around the system.
