Cloning FreeBSD
Hi,
Beside using G4U and the combination of (newfs, mount, umount, dump and tunefs) , what else can i use? Can G4U support older FreeBSD like version 4.x? I failed to clone a FreeBSD4.x disk before...not sure it's disk error or compatibility issue. Edit/Delete Message |

dd and similar programs can do a byte for byte copy of the data, down to the blank space irregardless of file system.
But I've generally found it ineffective for backup purposes unless you really want to clone things.
